Sella Nevea lies in a unique natural environment under the mountains Canin and Montasio as well as underneath the Prevala basin where the same-called icefield is located (the lowest icefield of Europe) and is well-connected to Chiusaforte (across the Val Raccolana, in the West – motorway exits of Carnia and Pontebba) and to Cave del Predil in the East by wonderful panoramic roads. Thanks to the abundand snowfalls the skiing season begins already at the end of September and lasts up to the month of May. The lift system reaches a 15 km long trail system among which the Canin slope that often hosts FIS championships of speed skiing, super G and giant slalom.
